Soldier

Your so safe inside your walls
In your ivory tower that will never fall
Or crack or crumble at the base
To reveal a boyish unmasked face
The pink swollen skin of new scars, healing, revealing what you really are.
Human. Heart.
But no. No, your armor is too thick and shinning in the winter sun
And your solitary shadow, full of lonely, will continue to be your only companion for as long as you keep it on.
Oh my silver soldier shinning in the sun. What are you fighting for, this battle you wage so silently, will never be lost or won.

In the comfort of your fortress you wonder why you feel alone. But the portcullus won't be raised, even though you keep yearning to make it home.

Sometimes, silver soldier, it's easier to remain in the darkness than risk losing the over brilliant shining of the sun.
