Lion.

Like a lion you lie there in the dark. 

Thoughts thundering through the closed facets of your mind like a wild herd of antelopes.

Keep the fear at bay.


There is no time, for tomorrow.

There is no time for, today.

There is no space for breath, for love, for mistakes.

 
-I am awake on the other side of this wall. 

I am awake like the antelope you see me as. 

I am awake in the knowledge that I can never be your sustenance, 

never be your baby gazelle. 

Awake to the knowledge that I am a lion, too.

But I am still here on the other side of the wall.
